[Imc-web] Can IMC users post to ucimc.org "upcoming events"? Or, other ways to post a calendar?

In AWARE we've been talking about keeping track of all the peace-
and anti-racism events being scheduled by various groups,
and have at least one person willing to post them to a central place,
if we have a mechanism to make it easy.
(Editing HTML files wouldn't be easy for him.)

Two options I can see:

   - Would it be appropriate to post things like these to the
     "upcoming events" list on the left side of www.ucimc.org?
     If so, how do people do that?  Digging around the web site,
     I didn't find a way to enter them.  Does it get done by the
     site admins?

   - I see that among the available drupal modules is one called "Event",
     which I trust is intended for this kind of thing -- right?

     Our group's web site, www.anti-war.net, is already hosted on zeco.  
     If we wanted to use drupal with Event on anti-war.net,
     should we install our own copy of drupal, with its own Event module,
     etc., or could we piggyback somehow on the existing drupal setup?
