hi there

Sweet Betsy's has so many electrical outputs it isn't even funny.

what i suggest from having scouted the place is this:

we commandeer the first booth south of the south door as the
MD/mixer/camera spot. there's an outlet just north of the south door.
an extension cord run past the foot of that door, duct taped down and
covered with the mat that's right there, would be unobtrusive.

a power strip on the floor by the wall in that first booth would give us
all the power we'd need for camera, MD, and mixer. it'd be close enough
that one mic cable could run to front-and-center stage no problem.--and a
second mic, with two XLR's daisy-chained, would reach anywhere in the
buiding, including the kitchen, and a little ways into the parking lot,
too.

send these two mic signals discretely to LEFT and RIGHT on the MD
recorder, and then bump 'em down to mono in SoundForge on SERGEI later on.

the second option might be: audio stays where it is, and the video
camera plugs in someplace further back (like, say, the power outlet
that's between the coffee service and the bus tubs on the kitchen side of
the room.) that seems to cause some congestion on the center aisle,
though. and you'd need to be able to zoom in tight on faces, i think, to
produce something that's legible in narrow bandwidth formats.

the camera-futher-back idea has advantages, though: like, the shot
wouldn't as "off-to-the-side" as it would be from the first booth. AND
it'd be easier to pull back and get a group shot.

SO, these are the suggestions from your humble TECH. SCOUT.
