[Newspoetry] tech questions / NEWSPOETRY LIVE AT SWEET BETSY'S!!

Hey. That kicks ass. I've been out of town reading the Unknown in Iowa and just
got this message. The dates all look good, I'd like to read, and, most of all,
I'd like to document the whole thing for publication/webcasting on Newspoetry,
and make a big deal about it (which, assure me, will look like an even bigger
deal on the other side of Internet - those webzine people in Frisco sure managed
to make me think I was missing the revolution when they had their event this
year.

Largely due to http://wrybread.com (check out their crack-cam and let me know
whether you think it's funny (or ethical)), who had raw footage of the event
being posted as it was taking place, from their van with the digital camera /
uplink and simple, elegant CGI-scripts allowing web-observers to scrawl their
comments about the event directly onto the site, as the event took place.

)

So here's some technical questions:

-anybody got a digital camera?
-those things are cool aren't they?
-is there any way to get audio rebweady that's faster than recording it, then
encoding it as RealAudio or MP3?
-which would be better for this, realaudio or MP3?
-how do you put video on the web?
-that's be pretty cool, wouldn't it, to put a video of us reading our po'erty on
the web?
-i bet that kind of gear is expensive.
-yeah.

The Unknown has made do with a 1997 Aiwa portable tape recorder and a Kodak
Advantix, but I bet there's better ways to go about it.

Also, anybody want to do a Halloween costume reading / Roman gluttony (with
vegetarian options) thing in Mike's yard on Halloween (Sunday), maybe late
afternoon. (for warmth and to not interfere with other events). To document and
post. (It's Scott's birthday weekend.) And, of course, enjoy maximally. Right,
Mike?
