Elvis died today
23 years ago
He would have been
Hanging with the cops
Climbing the barricades
Throwing bottles at the cops
Singing onstage with
Rage Against The Machine

Elvis would have sang
How sad my country is
When the only way
To feed your family
Is to sell all your LPs

No more rocking
Mama to sleep tonight
Papa's working the graveyard shift
Of his second job
Big Lou's in jail
For getting caught with crack
And we can't get these
Horrid politicians off our back
