#75 August 2000

Dead in the dark underwater
sunk sub sits still, silent.
An iron lump of thermonuclear
reactor shut down before seawater
reportedly filled the nose, denied
by the Russians. In Norway
two blasts rocked the needle.
Overreported nonconclusions never reach crewmen.
International aid wanders into picture;
someone apologizes to the world.
