Mark--
While it is true that you have benefited from the "accident" of your
last name, Newspoetry is an equal opportunity site dedicated to the
word, and words rely on letters, and letters reside in the alphabet.
While Newspoetry's revolutionary goals are wide-ranging and
far-reaching, it has never indicated even the slightest desire to
overthrow the alphabet.* Accept your fate as first among equals
(though as one who has always been near the end of the line because
of my own last name, I am touched by one of the alphabetically
privileged being willing to forego the usual advantages accorded
those with names that begin with those letters that appear earlier).
--Dirk Stratton (always 19th in line)
*Of course, now that this has been brought to our attention, and to
the attention of that wildly radical Joe Futrelle (also
alphabetically advantaged), who knows?
