[Newspoetry] Watch 'em

[Bill Wendling]

The politicians

watch them move...

			...watch them shake

hoping for

votes.


And the people

watch them move...

			...watch them shake

wanting

the long awaited

liberty and

pursuit of happiness.


And the aliens

watch them move...

			...watch them shake

look down upon our world

and say,

"Hey, that's the way it goes.

Easy come easy go.

Don't take any wooden nickels.

And keep your nose to the grindstone."


My eyes

watch them move...

			...watch them shake

are tired

and want it all to stop.


The groove is not groovy

and hasn't been for awhile.
