Snow

in this leopard-print box
of prints green leaves
and rainbows of flowers
mainly invoke themselves
against this scum of
silver flakes, a jumble
of tiny mirrors

or the icy stare of
a flashbulb,
in which your unblinking retinae
burn with filaments' glow

but one in thirty's
filled with snow
blurred, still falling
from the edge of the frame
or slumped on deck furniture
shot through storm windows
and warped jazz-age panels
viscous like amber

dusting that 6-foot-long
icicle we had last year
say cheese

the forecast says
tonight it will snow
but alas my memory isn't
photographic
