People's Republic of Green Street Recognizes New Nation
(Prensa Poetica)

The People's Republic of Green Street Central Committee announced the
extension of formal, diplomatic recognition to its new sister nation,
203 E. Oregon. Welcoming E. Oregon to the comradeship of rejectionist
mini-states that are springing up every day in the belly of the beast,
the repressive, yet indecisive, United States, Secretary Mike Lehman
hailed this development on behalf of the Central Committee.

"This heroic development is another sign that the superstructure of
exploitative capitalism is crumbling beneath our feet. With any luck,
Ralph Nader will soon lead a coup composed of soccer moms, disgruntled
vegans, and politically hip nerds to seize power from the greedy grasp
of Demopublican politics. Until then, the Movement for Seccession from
Stupid, Militarily-Dominated Collection Agencies for Big Banks and
Credit Card Companies, AKA the USA, will be our only hope for a more
peaceful and just world."

The head of the State Committee for Political and Feline Relations, a
cat known only by the cryptic nom-de-guerre, Che, announced that he
would be ready to receive Wednesday, or another other accredited
representative of E. Oregon, at the earliest opportunity. Rumors persist
that Che went on a secret mission to encourage revolutionary forces in
E. Oregon last summer, when he was out of public sight for some time,
but Che denied any connection between current events and his "vacation."
