This was in reaction to seeing her sing in the 2000 Jerry Lewis....you
know the
rest of the name. The poem, hence, is called 'Maureen McGovern'. And it
goin' to
go just like this, my 'linden' way:

MAUREEN MCGOVERN

Whenever I see
That face on TV,
I know what I am
Expecting.
I heard her singing
And scatting
Which was so well
That it seemed like
It brought back
Memories of
Ella Fitzgerald.

That is why when I
Saw her singing
A rendition of
"My Favorite Things"
With a scat improvisation
In the middle of
The song,
I thought to myself,
"She's still my linden!"
I always pretend to fall down
At her versatile voice.
And that was how I
became
A Maureen Mcgovern aficionado.
