Houston, TX -- NASA officials moved quickly to dispel speculations
arising from a recent television program depicting the Apollo moon
landings as a hoax, but then admitted, much to the shock of the
American public, that "Capricorn One" is true.

The laughable made-for-TV movie about faked Mars landings, starring
O. J. Simpson and Elliot Gould, not only failed to entertain but
depicted a nationally-publicized Mars program which, hoax or not, no
one except NASA seems to be able to remember. NASA's claim this week
was made even more difficult to believe after the producers of
"Capricorn One", which is currently available on DVD for under $8,
admitted to having made up the entire scenario during a three-martini
power lunch in LA, without consulting NASA or any other scientific or
government organization.

NASA responded to this counteraccusation with an unequivocal
restatement that Capricorn One is a work of almost documentary
accuracy even in its smallest details, such as the episode with the
crazed biplane pilot so vividly portrayed in the film by Telly
Savalas. O. J. Simpson's lawyers did not return repeated phone calls,
claiming that their client was en route to Mars.
