Erkthwake!

When the tephelone srarted aikshing,
my eyes were arlready hap-ofen.
I wast jus aikwing up.
Icptures on walls ooksh,
the ufton ooksh: Fagic Mingers.

Tirthy sedcons later, it stopped,
and me without another quarter.

An hour later,
a package arrived in the mail,
all the way from Scotland.

Now, three hours later,
you can buy the Oregonian
and read all about it for 35 cents
(less if you have a coupon)
or you can go online and read it for free.

And I can write a newspoem about it all
while drinking cranberry juice
and chatting with a friend in another window
about how he played bridge a few days ago
at some sort of Bridge Association tourney
and Bill Gates was on the other team,
and he (my friend) played badly, for him.
