exterior, day.  long shot of the white house lawn.  the president's
helicopter is about to lift off.  marines stand at attention nearby.
a flock of reporters and photographers press forward in a roped-off
area.

interior, night.  medium shot of a desk.  behind it in low light lurk
rows of computer workstations whose silent, anonymous operators seem
more or less busy.  in the background is a light blue screen lit with
undulating, inscrutable shapes.  an inset graphic with a short, large
caption hangs inexplicably in the upper right corner of the frame.

exterior, night.  a light snow is falling.  single flood on a long
shot of the twisted remains of two to five vehicles.  an ambulance and
fire truck are attending to the wreck.  the name of a reporter is
superimposed in a garish swiss font across the bottom of the fame.

interior, day.  low close-up in ambient fluorescents of a desk in a
senate chamber.  a microphone on a desktop stand rests next to a glass
of water and a stack of papers.  in the background rows of paralegals
sit nervously fidgeting.
