(The opposite of love is not hate, but indifference. -- Elie Wiesel)

I'm disgusted with myself

This is what American politics
Have brought me to

I want Dick Cheney
To get diseases and die
And the same for George W Bush

I've sunk to their level

I'm below them
Because
I say I'm for peace and love
But am filled with aggression and hate

While they have no consciences and
Cannot be held
Accountable for their words
Their deeds

A pox? A cancer?
On the corporate CEOs who
Pollute and kill us with their products?
Who rob us with false
Promises and sly deception?

A plague?
On those who imprison the body
Of my comrades?
Who rob us of the freedom
To make decisions which effect our own
Bodies?

And, yet, they
Are only the symptom and not
The disease

Hate is so much easier to feel
Than love

Yet love is more satisfying

In the long run
