fla: frauds lacking answers

hey sam
sam brown
no matter how defensive you get
neither you
nore the pages of fair labour association documents in your notebook
have all the answers

you promised in your talk
to verbally expound
a little further
on the meaning
of a non-retaliatory environment
for interviewing factory workers
a subject
you claim
that the fla has written
nothing about

yet you forgot to do so
and i gave you the benefit
of the doubt
and civilly asked you
to explain yourself
during question-and-answer time
and you curtly
referred me
to pages nine through sixteen
of your booklet
of monitoring guidelines
and said
no more

(it's wonderful
that when inquiring activists surface
literature just magically appears
about subjects
for which none existed
ten minutes ago
and you magically claim
to produce this document
so quickly)

so i returned to my seat
and listened to you
hem
and
haw
your way
through the rest
of the question-and-answer period
providing only
evasive answers
that fail to satisfy
any of the
inquiring minds

and afterwards
i cracked open
my copy of
your document
and read
the recommended pages
and confirmed
your initial statement
that the fla
has never defined
a non-retaliatory environment
while you
put on your suit jacket
grabbed up your notebook
of fla documents
and sped back
to the closest cushy corporate headquarters
where they won't let anyone in
to catch you
on your lie

proving
on all levels
that you
sam brown
and your fla
are only pretending
to have the answers
