I wrote this song in 1995. It seems appropriate now, if somewhat
ambiguous:
Kangaroo court
Measuring cups
Cracked on the lid
Revolving lights
Measuring cups
never have lids
That's not what I said
Revolving door
That's not what I slammed
There's no way to slam
What do you mean,
cracked on the lid?
A couple of cops
across the street
Terrible truths
Beat until soft
Carry a stick
and slam the door
A couple of sticks
melt on the stove
Talk to judge
Cracked on the lid
Talk to the head
Objection sustained
I made up your mind
Soft in the head
A measured amount
beat out of chrome
Measuring cups
never have lids
and there's no way to slam
a revolving door
