Bin Laden Group Busted By Microsoft

Microsoft recently announced a decision to audit Al Qaida for licensing
compliance. A company spokesman said that Bin Laden's faxes tipped off
Microsoft that the organization had not purchased the Client Access
Licenses (CALs) required to access Microsoft files on other servers. In
a further blow to Al Qaida, he commented that although some of the group
members had entered the US with student visas, the organization was not
eligible for educational pricing.

Al Qaida complained that Microsoft was trying to pressure them into an
organization-wide agreement. This agreement would be based on the
number of current members. Since membership is expected to decrease
sharply, Al Qaida contends that the policy is unfair. Osama Bin Laden,
the group's leader, was unavailable for comment.
