Ratios in our national news.
<Ratio quotas quote quanta.
Supreme Court to rule soon
On divisive ratio quotas as
Possible legitimacy bias,
Perpetuating discrimination.
(See related Section 8 story.)>
I'd like to wax poetics
Or whack poetically
Against the possibility
That anything in the news
Could neatly fission, split,
Divide, reductionably, to
Anal-yt-ically retentives
Such as facts or opinion.
Who counts these beans
Would be prime political
Information of some kind.
What's a bean, anyway?
Opinions are as indigestive
As psycho-pharmacy facts.
So, they could better say,
The news gives you gas --
According to its Octanity
For raving lunatic insanity.
Is Opinion fuel or additive?
Is fact consumable or not?
Ecologically,
Should we better burn
Grain-based alcohols,
Or oily-ole-o-leo extracts?
What mixture burns best?
Alternative energy?
Try truly natural gas!
Beans, beans, beans --
What-might-have-beans.
You would have to laugh
When such gas escapes.
You would have to escape
What such gas laughs at.
Laughing gas beans bag
Another sighing -- sobering --
Sobbering Sondheim musical.
Thanks for listening.
