[Newspoetry] How can a newspoet make money off her work?

The seller was auctioning off a portion of all future earnings she was 
hypothetically going to earn as a writer.  The item being sold was a 
contract setting aside some percentage of this as-yet-unearned revenue to 
the buyer.  When I visited it, it had been bid up to $1500.
