New York - Sesame Street will soon introduce its first corporate
criminal Muppet character to children of the United States, where one
in three CEOs regularly commits acts that can lead to jail time.

The upbeat Muppet will join Sesame Street on September 30 for its 33rd
season on PBS.

The character -- whose criminal actions can be seen by the children at
home, but not by the Sesame Street residents -- will travel to many if
not all of the eight other nations that air versions of the
educational children's show that began in the United States in 1969,
said Joel Schneider, vice president and senior adviser to the Sesame
Street Workshop.

"This character will be fully a part of the community," Schneider
said. "He will have several friends, including Sesame Street reporter
Kermit 'The' Frog."

In fact, almost all of the Sesame Street residents will welcome the
new muppet, except Oscar the Grouch. "Oscar will have a lot to say
about the Walmart that the new character will open just outside of
town," shrugged Schneider "but he complains about everything."

Talks are also under way to introduce a war-criminal character during
sweeps week. Although this character is expected to have many friends
at first, including Kermit and Sam the Eagle, most of the muppets will
eventually just forget about him.

"The new characters reflect an effort to introduce children to the
kinds of people that will affect their lives as they grow up," says
Schneider. "From price-fixing to genocide, children all over the
world need to know who's out there, and what they're thinking."
