The Window is Closed
How's a guy supposed to think
with all that noise outside?
I mean, most of that isn't
even English, is it?
A bunch of people are upset
about somethin' or other
but I can't make
any sense out of it.
Lord, you know how I won't
tolerate any backtalk.
A leader's got to lead,
don't he?
If I took time to listen to everybody
who thought different from me,
why, I'd never get anything done,
would I?
Y'know, I'm gonna have me
a glass of whiskey.
Now, I know I said
I gave that up.
But Lord, if you didn't want me
to have a drink now and then
you wouldn't have created
the French.
Damnation,
they're gettin' loud out there!
Go ahead and and shut that window, Lord,
and pull the blinds while yer at it.
Come over here
and have a glass, Lord,
we can sit and chew the fat
until the ruckus is over.
