[Newspoetry] Water cannons out of date?

DoD sponsors weapons to attack the American People?

If riot forces used water cannons on people engaged in the right to assemble
peaceably and to petition government reasonably, the public could see what was
happening and react to the promiscuous violation of their civil rights.

Yet, here is the government planning to create stealth weaponry, whose effects
would be far more devastating, on those experiencing, and yet invisible to the
camera's eye and the microphones ears. There would be merely an image of harm,
without attending visible sources of harm.

And, worse yet, nothing prevents police forces from acquiring such weapons and
training them upon groups of people that they dislike. Worst of all, such
weapons could be acquired by partisan political organizations and fired upon
"enemy" political gatherings and other concentrations of "enemy" forces,
celebrating their rights of assembly and free speech.

The weapons proposed are evil in themselves. Bring back the water cannon
standard.
