hello all,

i had a chance to go the "not in our name" protest in chicago yesterday
afternoon. it was a festive but passionate crowd of several thousand
(which caught organizers happily by surprise). people of all ages
filled the tribune plaza - quite a diverse showing including
religious groups, unions, socialists, students, and many families with
kids.

it was especially inspiring to look out across the sea of people and see
homemade signs everywhere you looked - "i will not trade my son for oil" -
"anti-occupation does not equal anti-semitism" - "war is not an option" -
and huge hand-painted banners and signs all along michigan avenue.

folks are organizing for the october 26th march - i grabbed some info
about the buses leaving from downtown chicago. round trip is $70, leaving
friday night and returning by 8am on sunday.

it's very heartening to see folks all across this country (and this
world!) outraged and organizing...
