i think the AWARE notes referred to a very specific incident in which
someone driving by the protestors shouted "kill all brown people" which, 
as i recall was shouted near/to a person of color who was standing in the 
picket line.  someone mentioned that this kind of threat could possibly be 
prosecuted.  

other than this specific example i don't think there was discussion of
people feeling threatened....  on the contrary people seemed to be feeling
pretty positive about the presence there.

just thought i'd throw in my interpretation.
