Dear friends,

We are at an exciting juncture in our campaign for contraceptive
coverage. Our legislation - HB 211 on Contraceptive Equity in
Insurance - will go before the Senate for consideration in the next
two weeks. READ ON FOR MORE INFORMATION AND AN URGENT APPEAL FOR
ACTION!

WHTF TO MEET WITH SENATOR WINKEL TOMORROW
Representatives of the Women's Health Task Force will be meeting with
Senator Rick Winkel tomorrow (WEDNESDAY) in his office at the Capitol
in Springfield. We are on a mission to bring back a commitment from
Senator Winkel to vote YES on this legislation on behalf of the
thousands of residents of his district who want him to represent
their interests in the Senate. If you would like to go to Springfield
with us for this meeting, please contact me ASAP.

TAKE ACTION TODAY & TOMORROW!
If you cannot attend the meeting, you can still play an important
role in securing a YES vote from Senator Winkel. Call Sen. Winkel in
his Springfield office at (217) 782-2507 this afternoon or before
10am tomorrow and leave the following message (or email him at
rickwinkel at rickwinkel.com and copy the message to brooke at shout.net):

"Hello, my name is ________. I am a voting resident of Senator
Winkel's district. I am calling to thank Sen. Winkel for meeting with
representatives of the Women's Health Task Force today to discuss his
position on HB 211 - Contraceptive Equity in Insurance. I urge Sen.
Winkel to give the Task Force his commitment to vote yes on this
important legislation. Thank you."

PRESS CONFERENCE TOMORROW AT 3PM AT CCHCC
Representatives of the Women's Health Task Force who met with Senator
Winkel will be reporting back from their meeting at a press
conference on Wednesday, April 30th, 2003 at 3pm at Champaign County
Health Care Consumers (2nd floor, Lincoln Building, 44 E. Main Street
#208, downtown Champaign). Come learn the results of our meeting with
Senator Winkel! Please try to attend this press conference and pass
the word along to others.

CHANCELLOR CANTOR SUPPORTS CONTRACEPTIVE COVERAGE LEGISLATION
In other exciting news, Chancellor Cantor today sent a letter to
Senator Winkel encouraging him represent the University community
with a YES vote on HB 211. Cantor said, "We want this for the
Urbana-Champaign campus."

Thank you all for your incredible support and energy! For more
information, or to volunteer, contact me at (217) 352-6533, ext. 17
or at brooke at shout.net.

Sincerely,
Brooke Anderson * on behalf of the Women's Health Task Force
