[Peace-discuss] My bench trial in July

Hello everyone

I have been granted a bench trial on Friday July 18th at 1:30PM. I 
would like as many people as possible to be there in support. I 
believe it will be in the same
location as my hearing, but I will have to double check (204 East 
Main in Urbana--courthouse)

The actual complaint is that I violated Section 23-21: resisting a 
peace officer in that the defendant:

did knowingly resist the performance by an individual known to the 
defendant to be a peace officer for the City of Champaign, namely: 
officer Robert Wills, of an authorized act within his authority, 
namely: breaking up a physical altercation, by pulling away from said 
officer, in the 1800 block of North Prospect Avenue, Champaign, IL

if I am found guilty I will be fined between $175-$750. I don't see 
how they can say I pulled away when I was flattened into the dirt, 
but the police report on the incident was ludicrous so why not?


My attorney will be contacting witnesses (those on Ricky's list) 
about 10 days prior to 7/18/03
