[Peace-discuss] Municipal Energy Update (fwd)

Obviously something needs to be done- but even if the local distribution grid comes under municiple ownership a reliable source of power will still need to be obtained - but it is questionable if it even exists,  and that source will still subject to disruption and /or brownouts. As a first step towards resolving the power quality problems, conservation is essential but that was the conclusion over 23 years ago as part of the UIUC College of Engineering and College of Agriculture/Univ YMCA/ Allen Hall Unit 1/ WILL-Radio "Topics in Energy"program series that looked at all areas of energy development, distribution, and use.This semester long series brought experts in from all over. Hopefully, Unit 1 and/or WILL should still have all the procedings and broadcast tapes.
