[Peace-discuss] Indoor Farmer's Market

I read in the minutes of last week's meeting that we
can't table during the outdoor portion of the Farmer's
Market. The minutes said this was because the indoor
market is run be the UBA not the city of Urbana. Can
someone explain this to me? The UBA didn't seem to
have a problem with our tabling at the Sweetcorn
Festival. Do they have a rule against community
groups? When Jay looked into this, I don't remember
there being an issue. Did we get our check back?

Just curious. Anyone who knows, you can email me
off-list.

Thanks,

Linda

Kindness and compassion towards all living things is a mark of a civilized society. Conversely, cruelty, whether if is directed against human beings or against animals, is not the exclusive province of any one culture or community of people. ... Racism, economic deprival, dogfighting and cockfighting, bullfighting and rodeos are cut from the same fabric: violence ... only when we have become non violent towards all life will we have learned to live well ourselves. Cesar Chavez, 1927-93 (letter, 12/90)
