Dear friend,

Are YOU registered to vote in Champaign County?

Champaign County Health Care Consumers (CCHCC) would be happy to 
register YOU to vote! As you know, CCHCC is founded on the belief in 
participatory democracy and giving consumers a voice in the health 
care system. Because elected officials greatly influence health care 
policy at the local, state, and national levels, civic participation 
- voting - is an essential way that consumers can have a voice in 
shaping the health policies that affect our lives. Voting is an 
important tool of democracy!

We are happy to announce today that we are kicking off a voter 
registration drive. Are YOU registered to vote? If you are not 
registered, or you need to change your address, CCHCC can register 
you to vote. Here's how:

1. To register to vote, you can contact Brooke Anderson at CCHCC at 
(217) 352-6533, ext. 17 or brooke at shout.net to arrange a time to come 
into our office and complete a voter registration card. The CCHCC 
office is located at 44 E. Main Street in Suite 208 of the Lincoln 
Building in downtown Champaign.

2. We will also be bringing voter registration materials to the 
following upcoming community meetings hosted by CCHCC:

   -- Women's Health Task Force Meeting on 2/2/2004 at 12 noon
      Planned Parenthood of East Central Illinois
      302 E. Stoughton Ave., Champaign

   -- Community Meeting on Provena Covenant on 2/5/2004 at 6:30p.m.
      Illinois Disciples Foundation
      610 E. Springfield Ave, Champaign

   -- Meeting on Supplemental Security Income on 2/13/2004 at 12 noon
      Champaign County Health Care Consumers
      44 E. Main Street, Suite #208, Champaign

The deadline to register to vote in the Illinois Primaries is 
February 16th, 2004, however, CCHCC will be registering people to 
vote year-round.
