Dear friends,

Champaign County Health Care Consumers invites you to join with us to 
rally for health care justice on June 18th and 19th as part of a 
national day of action for health care for all! On Saturday, June 
19th, hundreds of thousands of people in over 75 cities in 37 states 
will rally for health care for all in a series of demonstrations 
called "Bridge the Gap for Health Care." For more information, visit

CCHCC and friends will be participating in the regional demonstration 
in Chicago on June 19th. CCHCC is proud to announce that our own 
Medical Debt coalition member, Jim Bean of Champaign, will be a 
featured speaker at the Chicago event!

Prior to the Chicago event, however, CCHCC will also be joining with 
other local supporters of health care justice for a "Community 
Send-Off" to cheer on local activists travelling to Chicago for the 
June 19th rally.

CHAMPAIGN ON FRIDAY, JUNE 18TH

   Community Send-Off and Rally for Health Care for All
   Friday, June 18th, 2004 at 12 noon
   Crystal Lake Park Foot Bridge (or the Boat House if it rains)
   Champaign, IL

Please join us as we participate in a local Community Send-Off to 
cheer on local consumers and activists travelling to Chicago for the 
June 19th regional health care for all demonstration in Chicago. 
Speakers will include: Dr. Boone, CCHCC, Women's Health Task Force, 
Vietnam Veterans Against the War, Dr. David Gill, a representative 
for Sen. Barack Obama, Helen Satterthewaite, American Nurses 
Association, and Kathy Ennen, RN.

DIRECTIONS: Take University Avenue to Broadway Avenue in Urbana. 
Broadway is between Vine Street and Race Streets.  Go north on 
Broadway, and turn LEFT at the first opportunity, on Park Street. 
Take the second RIGHT to a large parking area, and then go down the 
steps to the footbridge. For wheelchair accessible parking, take the 
FIRST right after turning on to Park Street, into a small parking 
area.  Take the ramp around the east side of the Boathouse to the 
footbridge.

CHICAGO ON SATURDAY, JUNE 19TH

   Health Care for All - Bridge the Gap Rally, Music, and Picnic
   Saturday, June 19th, 2004 at 12 noon
   Lincoln Park, South of the Zoo
   Chicago, IL

Speakers will include Dr. Howard Dean, Rev. Jesse Jackson, Rep. Jan 
Schakowsky, Sen. Miguel del Valle, Champaign County Health Care 
Consumers' own Jim Bean, Vietnam Veterans Against the War, and many 
more!

TRANSPORTATION: CCHCC will be car-pooling up to Chicago for the 
demonstration, and seats are still available!
