[If you want a bit of depression this morning, read this letter from the
Gill campaign. He's the Democrat running against Tim Johnson for
Congress. The illiteracies of the letter (some pretty funny) may be due
to haste, but the wretchedness of the position is no more than what we
expect from Democrats at any level, I'm afraid. "Look for David in the
Patriots only section..." --CGE]

Subject: [Gill_for_Congress] Help Doc Gill on Memorial Day

Dear Gill Team,

Dr. Gill needs our help on Memorial Day. There are two things that we can
do to help him out.

1. We are walking with David in the Bloomington Memorial Day Parade on
Monday, May 31st. Line-up begins at 8:30 A.M at the Law & Justice Center
(104 W. Front St., Bloomington). We are not going to wear Gill for
Congress attire, buttons or carry campaign literature. We have yellow
signs that read, "Dr. Gill supports the troops." If you live near
Bloomington, please join us in this effort and invite friends -- this is
an
opportunity to show Tim Johnson that we are better than him.

2. Write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper. I have pasted my
letter below to be used as an example of the positive message we can send
about our candidate. I am sure that we can all find something positive to
say about Doc.

	In Solidarity,

******** Sample Letter to the Pantagraph **********************

Patriot and future Congressman David Gill supports the troops on Memorial
Day

Dr. David Gill from Clinton Illinois could be the most patriotic
individual I have met. In our first conversation about Iraq, I asked him
what he thought of Bush's mandatory extension of duty for our service men
and women.

Dr. Gill paused, looked out the window and said, "You know, there are
times when think that I should take my turn over there so those guys could
come home." As a Veteran who served for three straight years in the
Middle
East and brother to a soldier who is going to Iraq in November, my draw
dropped. David Gill is a true civil servant and rare breed of patriot.

Instead of going to Iraq, he is doing something else patriotic; he
is running for U.S. Congress. Doc Gill is a common citizen who has
sacrificed time with his family and all of his leisure time for the last
17-months to give the people of Illinois a voice of common sense in
Washington. We need leaders of character like David Gill if we are ever
to put this country back on track.

David Gill wants to be our next Congressman and I think that a guy who is
willing to support the troops in such an esteemed fashion deserves our
support. I will walk next to David Gill on Memorial Day in the
Bloomington Parade as we march to Miller Park. I invite my fellow citizens
of Bloomington to join us on Monday, May 31st at the Law & Justice Center
(104 W. Front St., Bloomington). Line-up begins at 8:30 A.M., look for
David in the Patriots only section.

This is a time to remember the many heroes who have made the ultimate
sacrifice for our freedom. It is a time to say a prayer for our troops
abroad and wish them a safe return. It is also a time to become heroes
and demand that our politicians purse a more diplomatic approach to this
war and work towards bringing our troops home.

	Respectfully,
	John Laesch
