Another disappointment....from our senator....however, not unexpected.  "Having made this engagement"....................  I always thought when you made a mess/mistake and it is apparent that is the case, then you stop that behavior, step back, seek input from others, readjust your plan, admit the error, and not continue to do the further work that is "put ourselves and our allies"  as well as the people of Iraq at greater risk.
On to DC........Maybe if the people lead the leaders will follow!

Thank you for contacting me with your concerns about our policy in Iraq. I appreciate your perspective and I certainly share your frustration at the Administration’s handling of this war. It has become a morass from which there appears to be no good way out.

We unquestionably face a dilemma in Iraq. Having made this engagement, we are in the position where leaving that country risks chaos and staying has immeasurable financial and social costs, and further work needs to be done in Iraq before we can leave without putting ourselves and our allies at greater risk. An immediate priority for Congress should be to ensure that the American people are getting truthful and accurate information about when and how we will bring our troops home, and that our soldiers, guardsmen and reservists receive all the tools they need to do their jobs and all benefits they are entitled to on their return home.

As a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and the Veterans Affairs Committee, I will have the opportunity to further address these concerns with my colleagues. You may be assured I will be raising many of the questions you brought to my attention as the 109th Congress proceeds.
