I apologize for re-visiting this issue; I've been out of town for several days.  
   
  The thing that bothers me most about the letter in the N-G is that it attempts to define the Palestinian-Israeli conflict as a religious one.  Most on this list would agree that the conflict is a political one and not religious.  Just as the Zionist movement under Herzl hijacked the Jewish religion to gain support for usurping Palestine, people like the author of this "anti-Semitic" letter are playing the media's game for them:  that it's "Jews vs. Muslim extremists" in a profane simplification of the Middle East crisis.
