Good morning, Karen!
I don't hate a lot of things, but I will admit to a few: I hate
violence, hypocrisy, and willful ignorance. I hate these things. I
also hate that the current administration is the personification of all
three of these things. I do not think that my hate for our
administration makes me more like them.
I don't necessarily hate people who support our administration, but I
hate how they voted, I hate the reasons behind their vote, and I hate
the results of their vote. I have a few relatives who voted for Bush.
I don't hate them, but I hate what they did, and I hate the affects of
what they did on me, mine, my country, and the world.
The context in which I said, " 'Hate' is not always a bad or negative
emotion" was in response to Bambenek's misapplication of my first post,
in which I called for intelligent debate. Because he clearly
stereotyped me as a liberal, and his reasoning skills are akin to the
average Fox "News" viewer, he mistakenly thought that calling me a
"hater" would shame me. I don't hate Bambenek, but I hate his willful
ignorance, his hypocrisy (though I'm not sure he's smart enough to
actually warrant this epithet), and his support of violence. I don't
think this makes me more like Bambenek.
Hating something does not mean that I'm going to react accordingly. But
I'm not afraid to hate things, actions, or even people. I *am*,
however, afraid of some things, some actions, and some people.
Peace,
Tracy
