It's now running 53% to NO.

But actually the question assumes the backlash isn't
just a necessary step in the advancement of the cause.
 Power concedes nothing without struggle, and all.

It's deceptive anyway.  Besides the usual unscientific
nature of these online polls (they prove nothing),
this poll asks people to evaluate the effectiveness -
which they only do by expressing what they already
thought about the issue (not what the question appears
to ask).  If it were a fair poll, it would just ask
what people think about the issue.  This way, it
implies a criticism of the activists from the start,
then asks people if they agree.  Not the same.
