whose tenure at DePaul is at risk due to a campaign by Dershowitz and
his allies.
[See "Harvard Law Professor Works to Disrupt Tenure Bid of Longtime
Nemesis at DePaul U.," Chron of Higher Ed, Thursday, April 5, 2007,

I haven't looked at the case closely, but it seems to be a clear
academic freedom issue - he was recommended for tenure by his
department, there doesn't seem to be any serious dispute about his
academic scholarship.

In other words, one can sign the petition on general freedom of
expression grounds without necessarily endorsing Finkelstein's views
on any topic or his way of presenting them.

I say this not so much for the benefit of folks on this list so much
as people at the University you might want to forward this to.

If you are an academic or teacher, please also sign the letter of
support from scholars at normanfinkelstein.wordpress.com

I learned about this from Jewish Voice for Peace's "Muzzlewatch,"
which I recommend.
