"Road to Guantanamo" Free movie screening and discussion

"The Road to Guantánamo" is a first-hand account of three men who were held at Guantánamo Bay detainment camp for two years. Part drama, part documentary, their story is told through a mixture of interviews with the men, news archives, and re-creation of their ordeal.

This film was the winner of the Silver Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival.

Four UK citizens set out to attend a wedding and holiday in Pakistan. They join a humanitarian aid trip to Afghanistan, crossing the Afghanistan border just as the U.S. began its bombing campaign. One friend was lost. The other three were captured by the Northern Alliance and eventually taken to Guantánamo, imprisoned at Camp X-Ray and later at Camp Delta. After two years at Guantánamo, the three were released and returned to Britain with no charges.
