While I find the rejection of Evangelicals by the liberal community to be 
preposterous, as I think Robert does, I am more disturbed by Huckabee, a 
Southern Baptist pastor. The Southern Baptists only got around to admitting 
in 1995, as a denomination, that slavery was immoral. This is a quite an 
impressive skeleton in their closet. Huckabee needs to be inspected closely 
for racist sentiments. There are plenty implicitly, to the extent that he 
supports radical Republican policy, which is inherently racist (they 
understand helping the poor to mean helping a lot of African Americans, and 
want to have no part of it). But is there explicit racism?
