What is particularly telling is the headline in today's DI, below the picture of yesterday's panel, "BP invests in UI, biofuel development," celebrated by a "champagne toast" but the UI and UC-Berkeley. Richard Herman (or was it White) actually had the gall to quote Clark Kerr, target of the Free Speech Movement in 1964, on the role of the university.
