This is what came to my mind when I read about the 4th of July Parade.

That being said does the committee exercise any type of creative control
over the floats?  It's been a long time since I've done anything related to
the parade, but I do remember that you pretty much have the same people
involved year in and year out. I'm not taking any classes this summer so,
who knows, I might actually make it to an AWARE meeting. :)

All good ideas as usual, folks.

We do need to keep in mind that a float may pass some
onlookers at a rate that precludes much reading or
studying stats.  Personally, I think it's fine to have
'em, so long as our basic message is clear even
independent of the explanations -- more words can be
on signs that folks carry?  For a float, ILLUSTRATION
is the thing, with minimal wording.

The banner idea is great.  How about a friendly
amendment?  Add in quotation marks and one twist on
the  myth of "free" enterprise ... 

U.S. "FREE" ENTERPRISE A SLAVE TO WAR!

I like the Daddy Warbucks idea, or we could make a big
puppet of him with dollar signs in his eyes and
Halliburton on his hat, or something.

I also like the idea of having the wretched of the
Earth, with Mom & Pop, unions, et al., trailing behind
-- maybe with signs demanding justice -- similar to
2-3 years ago ... ?
