The City of Urbana is accepting applications to serve on the newly created Civilian Police Review Board (CPRB).
The CPRB seeks Urbana residents who are committed to improving police/community interactions through fair and timely oversight of police internal investigations of citizen complaints.

The ideal candidate will possess:
# A reputation for fairness, integrity and a sense of public service.
# Exceptional analytical skills.
# An ability to maintain the confidentiality of highly sensitive information.
# An ability to work effectively in a highly diverse environment.
# An ability to work towards a constructive and positive resolution of citizen complaints.
# An ability to present ideas and perspectives in a thoughtful and respectful manner.

Requirements:
* All candidates must reside in the City of Urbana.
* All candidates must complete a training program prior to active participation on the CPRB. Annual continuing education is also required.
* All candidates must submit to a criminal background check.
* Candidates with prior felonies will not be considered.
* Candidates having any official affiliation, whether current or former, with a federal, state or local law enforcement agency will not be considered.
* All candidates must be willing to serve for at least a single three-year term.
