  A friend forwarded this to me, and I assume it's legit. For some reason, it was routed and re-routed a number of times before it got to me, maybe because she and friends all forwarded it a lot. Anyhow, here it is for yr consideration.

We're trying to send an overwhelmingly powerful message Condolezza Rice that rendition -- C.I.A. kidnapping to torture and abuse -- needs to stop. Can you forward the message below to your friends and family ans ask them to get involved?

The feature film Rendition is about the C.I.A. kidnapping of a fictional character, Anwar El-Ibrahimi.

If only rendition were fiction.

Unfortunately, the unlawful practice of "extraordinary rendition" is all too real.

The real-life stories of the victims are as chilling as they are unbelievable. Black-clad C.I.A. agents, wearing masks, grab foreign nationals, beat and strip them down before loading them onto planes for destinations unknown to their families or governments.

Some victims are transferred to secret U.S. government-operated overseas "black site" prisons, where American C.I.A. officials are solely responsible for the interrogation and torture of prisoners.

Other times our own government asks other nations to do our dirty work, handing people over to countries like Egypt, Jordan, Syria, and Morocco that are notorious for torturing prisoners.

Detainees experience unspeakable horrors and squalid conditions. They face the brutal practice of waterboarding (simulated drowning), electric shocks, beatings, extreme isolation, and psychological torture.

America shouldn't condone this, let alone conduct these attrocities!
