[This was sent to the aware at anti-war.net mailing list.]
[Don't think I believe Michael Scheuer's comment at the bottom --
Ron Paul isn't the *only* pres. cand. to talk this way -- but
he is certainly in too small a minority.]

Subject: [Aware] Peace in Iraq Chicago Rally on Saturday
To: undisclosed-recipients: ;

Dear Peace Supporter,

Join us for a Peace and Freedom Walk & Rally with U.S. Congressman and 2008
Presidential candidate Ron Paul, in Chicago, IL this weekend. Ron Paul has
been the pre-eminent promoter of a non-interventionist foreign policy in our
country for over 30 years. He voted against the Iraq War in 2002, he has
voted against every supplemental appropriations bill to fund the war, and he
has introduced sunset legislation that would revoke the Bush
administration's power to wage war in Iraq. The time to stand up to end the
war in Iraq, and prevent a war in Iran is now! America needs your help to
end this war and change our foreign policy regardless of political
affiliation.

Let your voice be heard, and let us end this war!

*Ron Paul quotes on the Iraq War.*

"I rise to urge the Congress to think twice before thrusting this nation
into a war without merit- one fraught with the danger of escalating into
something no American will be pleased with."
–Ron Paul

"Intervention, no matter how well intended, inevitably boomerangs and comes
back to haunt us. Minding our own business is not only economical; it's the
only policy that serves our national security interests and the cause of
peace."
-Ron Paul

"I have been one of the strongest opponents of military action against Iraq.
I voted against the initial authorization in 2002 and I have voted against
every supplemental appropriations bill to fund the war. I even voted against
the initial "Iraq regime change" legislation back in 1998. I believe our
troops should be brought back to the United States without delay."
-Ron Paul

"Of the eighteen presidential candidates now in the field from both parties,
only Mr. Paul has recognized that we are indeed hated and being warred
against because we are "over there," and not for what we are and how we
live. Our failure to recognize the truth spoken by Mr. Paul – and spelled
out for us in hundreds of pages of statements by Osama bin Laden since 1996
– is leading America toward military and economic disaster."

- Michael Scheuer, founding director of the CIA's Bin Laden group

"Just bring them home."
-Ron Paul

Thanks for your time. I hope to see you at the Walk and the Rally!

Brian Costin
