I see why you're so confused about liberals and conservatives, Carl. 
Unfortunately, not all conservative southern Democrats became Republicans. 
Cokie is the daughter of Louisiana Representative Hale Boggs, who opposed 
desegregation, and the fruit didn't fall very far from the tree. Cokie is 
very definitely a conservative, and has a bad case of it.
