[Peace-discuss] die-in went well!

Actually, on my corner (diagonally across from Karen), I'm told there was
a DI reporter interviewing and also taking photos, so there might be
coverage on Monday.

There was indeed a lot of energy and solidarity and more turnout than I
expected given the weather. Some photos were taken, so we might see those
soon. Campus police rolled by several times, but apparently didn't bat an
eye.

: Dear Peace List,
:
: The die-in went extremely well today. Loads "died" in the streets during
the Mom's Day on campus crowds.
:
: In spite of the wet pavement and quickly soaked clothes, the shivering
high schoolers and their friends (members of CAN and AWARE) stayed well
beyond the 2 hours they scheduled for the event.
:
: While no press was there, there might have been a journalism student or
two.
:
: Some new chants:
: Get up, Get down,
: This anti-war movement has come to town.
:
: Who's street is this?
: Our street!
: Who's war is this?
: Their war!
:
: Some of the old chants:
: College not combat, Troops home now.
:
: Occupation is a crime,
: >From Iraq to Palestine.
:
: What do we want?
: Troops home!
: When do we want it?
: Now!
:
: Exon, Mobile, BP, Shell,
: Take this war and go to &#))
:
: [I can't remember the first 2 lines right now]
: That's bull@#$%, Get off it.
: This war is for profit.
:
: Your on-the-street-reporter,
: -karen medina
