Absolutely... and isn't that pretty much how the military has been used in ALL countries over the ages???

I'm along the lines of the Hedges argument for the military in "War is a Force..." rather than all uses of the military is bad in principle.  In the current conception, the US military has much more often than not been used in imperial ventures than any other purpose.
