[Peace-discuss] Impeachment & executive privelege claims and pardon requests

In listening to pacifica.org coverage of the kinda
sorta impeachment hearings. I was impressed with Scott
Horton (no comment blog at harper.org) assertion that
articles of impeachment eliminate both bush's
possiblity of executive privelege claims and his
ability to pardon anyone implicated in the indictment.
.. 

He said there are lots of rumors that many in and out
of  the adminstration (like Yoo, maybe ) are
requesting blanket pardons for their excellent work.

Apparently this would be effective even if the senate
doesn't go forward to a hearing/trial, tho probably
not if they drop it. . 

is there a constitutional expert lurking here?
