[Peace-discuss] Obama and cluster bombs...

Just to clarify - Obama didn't actually vote to ban the use of cluster
bombs - the Senate has never considered that question (and if you
could get three votes in the Senate for that proposition, we should
throw a party.)

Obama voted for Feinstein's modest but important amendment to tighten
restrictions on cluster bombs in the wake of Israel's wanton use of
them in Lebanon in 2006, a vote for which he was trashed by the Israel
right-or-wrong crowd. Not only among the remaining candidates - among
all the Senate Dems who ran for President, Obama was the only one to
vote for the Feinstein amendment (Biden and Dodd voted no.)
