All --

	I'd even suggest the St. Patrick's (San Patricio's) Battalion -- a
group of Irish immigrant soldiers in the US Army during the Mexican
American War who changed their allegiances and fought for the Mexican
army after they saw the US Army abusing/raping/killing the Mexican
civilians during the war.

Hugh Thompson is another ( http://www.law.umkc.edu/faculty/projects/
ftrials/mylai/Myl_hero.html#HUGH%20THOMPSON: ) . He was a helicopter
pilot who came upon the My Lai massacre while in progress. He turned
his helicopter's guns on the Americans and told them that if they
continued, he'd open fire. He sent his men in to help the Vietnamese
civilians, get them to hospitals and then had the courage to testify
about the massacre.

Ron Ridenhour would be another -- directly related to publicizing My
Lai and helping to stop it.

Just a few more suggestions for those military men that we could
honor for standing up for justice.

Be realistic. Demand the impossible!

Neil

I want young men and women to know that these privileges and
opportunities did not come without somebody suffering and sacrificing
for them.
[martin luther king jr., 1929-1968]

The time is past when good men can remain silent, when obedience can
segregate men from public risk, when the poor can die without defense.
