I think the US, (Obama et al) would be crazy to make this major  
military escalation, especially at this time. The risks would seem  
enormous: Do they know how the strong Pakistani military would react,  
how the Pakistani people would react? Hence, I doubt this would occur.  
Clinton and cohort (Holbroke?, Petraeus?) are trying to bend  
Pakistan's policies to our ends by threats I think vacuous.  --mkb
